Build a Discord AI agent bot with FastClaw
Connect a FastClaw agent to Discord: answer DMs and @-mentions in servers, with per-channel sessions, memory and sandboxed tools.
DMs and servers
The bot answers direct messages and replies in server channels when it is @-mentioned.
Validated token
FastClaw checks the token against Discord's /users/@me before saving it.
Isolated sessions
Each Discord channel and DM keeps its own conversation, separate from the agent's other platforms.
What you can do
- Give your Discord community a helper that knows your docs and can run code safely in the sandbox.
- Run the same agent on Telegram and Slack without duplicating its setup.
- Read more patterns in FastClaw for communities.
Set it up
- Open the Discord Developer Portal, create an application, add a bot and copy its token.
- Under Bot → Privileged Gateway Intents, enable MESSAGE CONTENT INTENT.
- In FastClaw, open the agent, go to Channels → Discord and paste the token.
- Pair your account by sending
/pair <code>(from the console) to the bot. - Invite the bot to a server via OAuth2 → URL Generator → bot scope, or DM it to test.
Notes
Discord is one of FastClaw's IM channels; all channels share the agent's personality, skills and memory.
