Build a Telegram AI agent bot with FastClaw

Turn any FastClaw agent into a Telegram bot in minutes: paste a BotFather token, pair your account, and chat in DMs or groups.

01

Token checked before save

FastClaw calls Telegram's getMe before storing the token, so a typo never leaves you with a dead bot.

02

DMs and groups

Chat one-to-one or add the bot to a group. Every chat keeps its own session and history.

03

Text and photos

Users can send text and photos; the agent replies with formatted text, images and file links.

04

No public URL

The bot connects out to Telegram, so it works on a laptop behind NAT just as well as on a server.

What you can do

  • Run a personal assistant you can reach from your phone, with scheduled reminders delivered straight to the chat.
  • Launch a community helper bot for a Telegram group — see FastClaw for communities.
  • Answer on Telegram and Discord with the same agent, memory and skills.

Set it up

  1. In Telegram, open @BotFather, run /newbot and copy the HTTP API token.
  2. In FastClaw, open the agent, go to Channels → Telegram and paste the token. It is verified before it is saved.
  3. Pair your account: copy the one-time code from the console and send /pair <code> to your bot from your own Telegram account. The code expires in 10 minutes.
  4. Send the bot a message to test it.

Prefer the CLI?

fastclaw channels connect --agent alpha --type telegram \
  --account my_bot --token 123456789:ABCdef...

Notes

Telegram is one of nine IM channels. Stickers and voice notes are skipped; text and photos are relayed to the agent.
