Answer iMessage with an AI agent using FastClaw
Run FastClaw on a Mac and let an agent answer iMessage direct messages sent to that Mac's Apple ID.
The Mac is the bot
Apple has no bot API, so FastClaw reads Messages on the Mac it runs on and replies through Messages.app.
Paired at connect
Connecting iMessage pairs the channel with you immediately.
Direct messages only
The agent answers one-to-one conversations. Group chats are skipped because iMessage has no way to @-mention a bot.
What you can do
- Text your personal agent from your iPhone — ideal for developers running FastClaw at home.
- Combine it with scheduled jobs for reminders, or reach the same agent on Telegram.
Set it up
- Install FastClaw on the Mac signed into the Apple ID you want the agent to use.
- Grant FastClaw Full Disk Access in System Settings → Privacy & Security, then restart FastClaw.
- Open the agent → Channels → iMessage and connect. Approve the Automation → Messages prompt when it appears.
- Send a direct message to that Apple ID from another device.
Notes
iMessage is one of FastClaw's IM channels.
